What is the Backlink Audit tool?

The SEMrush Backlink Audit tool analyzes your backlinks according to over 30 toxic factors or markers. It conducts a level-based link, page and domain examination and analyzes toxic markers’ frequency in order to create a toxic score formula that identifies the toxic level of each link compared to all others.

With SEMrush Backlink Audit you can:

• Import your backlinks from Google Search Console and merge them with backlinks from the SEMrush database in order to increase your overall number of backlinks
• Evaluate your backlinks’ level of toxicity
• Discover websites that are giving you toxic links and have the option of reviewing specific links separately
• Prevent unexpected drops in your rankings or recover from implied penalties by disavowing potentially harmful links

To get started, go to SEMrush Projects. If you already have at least one active project running, you'll notice a new section there called 'Backlink Audit Tool.' Go ahead and click the 'Set up' button to configure your first Backlink Audit campaign.
